The Blue Ridge League selectively considers new teams and ownership groups in markets that strengthen the league’s long-term footprint.
BRL is not an open-entry league, and expansion opportunities are not awarded simply to increase the league’s team count. Each potential market is evaluated based on its ballpark, geography, local business potential, community support, ownership strength, and fit within the league’s existing and planned territories.
Entry Terms
The Blue Ridge League does not publish a standard entry fee. Financial terms are privately negotiated and may vary depending on the market, territory, ownership structure, existing team assets, facility situation, and other factors.
BRL does not endorse third-party estimates of club values or entry costs. Financial information should be considered official only when provided directly by the league.
Expansion territories can be limited by geography, scheduling considerations, existing clubs, and markets already being developed by the league. In some cases, the Blue Ridge League may secure or develop a market before selecting a local ownership group.
What We Look For
Prospective ownership groups are thoroughly vetted and should be prepared to demonstrate:
- Adequate capitalization to operate a successful summer collegiate baseball club
- Strong business and professional experience
- The ability to develop local sponsorship, ticketing, merchandise, and community relationships
- Access to a stadium that meets Blue Ridge League standards
- A commitment to professional game-day operations and the fan experience
- Alignment with the league’s long-term vision and standards
The Blue Ridge League places a premium on quality of ownership, quality of market, and long-term sustainability.
Admission is at the sole discretion of the Blue Ridge League. A qualified applicant may not be admitted when a territory is unavailable, a facility does not meet league standards, or the opportunity does not fit the league’s expansion strategy.
