Blue Ridge League Announces Spartanburg County Team coming to Jim Everhart Field
The Blue Ridge League is proud to announce the addition of the Spartanburg County Baseball Club, set to begin play this summer at historic Jim Everhart Field in Inman, South Carolina.
Located in northern Spartanburg County, Jim Everhart Field sits in the heart of the old Inman Mill village — a historic mill stadium that has long served as home to local and semi-professional baseball. Generations of players and fans have gathered on these grounds, and this new chapter will continue that tradition while bringing high-level collegiate wood-bat baseball back to the Upstate.
The Spartanburg County Baseball Club has secured a multi-year lease with Spartanburg County, ensuring long-term stability and a strong partnership as the program launches. The stadium will continue to host the area’s American Legion team during the summer on separate dates, preserving the field’s longstanding community role while expanding opportunities for baseball fans across the region.
Games will take place primarily on weekends, creating a consistent and walkable gathering point for residents of Inman and surrounding neighborhoods. Positioned within the historic mill village, Jim Everhart Field offers a uniquely local atmosphere where many fans can attend on foot, a rarity in modern sports and a reminder of baseball’s roots as a true community pastime.
The team’s home opener, to be announced in the coming weeks, will take place in early June. The inaugural season will run through the end of July as part of the Blue Ridge League’s expanding footprint across the Carolinas and Southwest Virginia. Other South Carolina teams play out of the old Greenwood Braves minor league stadium in Greenwood and at an old mill stadium in Joanna that is currently being renovated.
“Spartanburg County has a rich baseball tradition, and Jim Everhart Field is one of those special places where the game has always mattered,” said Blue Ridge League leadership. “We’re excited to build something that honors that history while creating a vibrant summer destination for families, fans and players alike.”
Additional details regarding branding, schedules, and community partnerships will be announced soon.
